That`s good Aaron.  I`m sure I lost enough hair to stuff a small pillow, and am still shedding.

Ty, good news from you too.  It`s so good to feel that the old enjoyment of life is coming back.  That made me smile about you having to carry Buster home, yes, maybe no wallks for a while yet!  smile

Hi Dee, hope you`re doing ok now.  Nice that your hair is getting back into condition.  I love the emo! I can`t seem to use them any more, my post disappears.

Take care all, love from Jill xxx

Hi Aaron, Congratulations to you on your blood results, especially the und part.  aww.gif  Your doing great! Back to the hair thing, mine started to fall out around 4 months of tx. As soon as the tx was over, it stopped falling out. It's coming in slowly now and it acturally shines, once again. It is still thin but it looks better.grandma.gifHa ha ha nobody seems to use this 'emotion" it's "Grandma". Good luck to you Aaron, Hugs Dee

Yes, that's Buster.  Seventy-five pounds and half that is his head, lol.  He's a big baby though and just loves running around with the grand kids and their friends.  My sister also has two Bull Terriers  They're known as the clowns of the dog world, but they are almost impossible to train, they don't take anything very serious!  Take care, tysmile

Hi Aaron,

I'm glad to hear that things are improving each day,  I feel the same way.  I also have the itching all over.  I tried antihistimines, but they make me spacey and don't seem to help me much.  I have noticed my mind clearing a little and some of that old desire to do things coming back.

I'm almost ready to take Buster for a walk, which is always a major event.  He walks great until I decide that that's far enough and then he lays down and won't get up.  I have to carry him back to the house and I'm not quite ready for that yet!

It's great you're back in the gym, I can't wait...

    Take care, tysmile

Hi Elizabeth - oh I hadn`t thought about all the brushing making it worse, thanks for mentioning that!  To top it all my vac has broken so I`m having to go round picking up mine and my cat`s hairs off the floor, lol. smile
I love your idea of doing something constructive every day - that is such a positive thing to do.

Hi Lesley - that`s really funny!  I haven`t put any mascara on for months, just slapped some foundation on - I don`t think I`ll even try for a while.  I`ve learned to embraced my inner slob while on tx. lol.  biggrin

Take care all, love form Jill xxx

that is to funny..me same with the eyelashes.

Ty
i am feeling like shaving my head ...lol ..but seriously i feel like there is so much dead energy in there .

Jill
i am not sure that brushing twice a day is such a great idea ..the more it gets pulled on the more it will fall out.
i know what you mean tho its a bit confronting seeing it all over the floor.

ok all you moulting people have a good day...or sleep for you OS
i am working on doing something constructive everyday from my diary, involving something that motivates and gets me out in the world,
to recreate a life ..and take my mind off the same old stuff that goes around in my head..be happy all

Hi Guys,
I forgot to mention before:- I think I've lost some of my eye lashes too.
I wore mascara for the first time in ages & it looked like a spider had crawled up my cheeks into my eye socket & left its legs dangling out there.
They looked a bit longer but definately missing a few (lot).

Take care you all

Hi Aaron, Beth, Jill, Fnzol and Leslie,
My hair started falling out at about month four.  I decided the other day I'm going to chop it off and start over, lol.  Great pic!   I don't want any sx either, but I guess it's a little late to be wishing for that now...  Take care, tysmile

Hi Aaron,Beth Jill,Fnzol

My hair seems to be falling out more since I finished tx than during. My vacuum cleaner is clogged up with them cos they're quite long.
I'm certain its the meds but wish it would stop. Does anybody have an idea how long its likely to go on for?

Fnzol, the pics a scream what was the dog doing?

Hope everybodys feeling as well as can be.

Hi Aaron, that`s been happening to me too for about the last 2 months or so - I feel like I`m moulting!  I have to remember to brush my hair several times a day so it doesn`t drop out all over the carpets.  Oh the joy.  smile  Hope your energy is still improving.

Love the photo Fnzol!  biggrin

Take care everyone, Jill xxx

It's scalp and follicle dehydration from the ribavirin. My case nurse said that it usually presents around month 5. It was about 4 months for me. I've lost about 1/4 of my hair and about 1/2 my mustache.

ok so most of my bloods are back just waiting for the PCR test to come back, they are as follows
WBC = 4.1
RBC = 4.50
Hemoglobin = 13.7
Platelet count = 265
So these all look good so far and are all now in the normal range again now here is what kinda worries me and one that is good with bloods let me know if I should be worried or not thanks :)

ALK normal range = 30 - 110 mine is at 111 same as last blood a little high still at one point in treatment it had droped down to 99

AST normal range = 19 - 45 mine is at 29 up from last blood which was 27

ALT normal range = 9 - 47 mine is at 49 up from last blood which was 47
thanks for you time :)

Gidday Aaron,

Welcome to the post-tx, s'pose I should hang a shingle somewhere, maybe later... Heh'  nice little perk you've got goin' there in a 2 week post-tx PCR sport, and in my book, you were only a short-term geno 3 tourist.

No wuckers there mate, you'll bolt it in, although I can't really see why they do a PCR at 2 weeks.  I had one when I finished (did you Elizabeth?) did you, or maybe no and this is why you are having it now ?

2 weeks and you are getting your energy back ?  You're kidding, I've been finished 5 weeks and I had to look up what energy was !!

Only kidding:)  Good onya' mate, that is impressive tho' you lucky bugger, I'm still struggling a fair bit, things are pretty hard and I feel like being back in the real world is like the first time I've been here, and you just walk back into life like gettin' off a bus. !

I don't think there's any need for nerves about the test. I was going to say tomorrow but I guess it's now today, (see were not even on the same page !!)   You went UND in under 4 weeks, so that virus can't even get a visa it's that far gone, so rest easy mate.  It's no accident you are bouncing around like a teenager, you haven't had to deal with that virus for 6 months, it's dead and buried.

If by some unfortunate error you were positive it would be better to know asap, but that's not gonna happen, beside you were banging interferon into ya two weeks ago mate, that's why I'm amazed you feel energy period.

Good luck with the results mate, they are a forgone conclusion......negative.  Keep up the recovery rate mate, you'll be breaking some records with those blood tests:)nod.gif

Cheers,

Brendan.

P.S.  You won't get the PCR results on the same day as the test mate, sorry,  it's gonna be a couple of days on that cold tile floor before the results to that'll pop out

Hi Aaron,
It's great to hear that your energy is coming back after only two weeks, that's fantastic.  I get a PCR test in two weeks, but they haven't told me about any viral testing after that.  I have to keep going in for blood and liver testing weekly for awhile longer.
I assume they are going to keep testing so they can make the decision as to when they can put me back on phlobotomy for my excess iron, who knows?  Good luck on those tests!  Take care, tysmile

Hi all I am now two weeks post tx and am starting to get my enery back which is a plus :) kinda nervous about tomorrow my doc want's bloods done 2 weeks post 3 months post and then at 6 months out of all my blood test's to date tomorrow's for me is the scariest this far but on the other hand atleast I will know most of the results before the end of the day perk's of working at the hospital I guess but then again it could be a disatvantage if I find out bad news.
