I drink 1/2 cup of coffee first thing when I wake up. I follow it with about 20 oz's of water. Take first set of meds/meal 30-60 minutes after. I had to delete my afternoon 1/2 cup as it seemed to play a big role in my late afternoon psychotic mental bouts. I can't explain why....but as soon as I deleted the afternoon 1/2 cup they disappeared also. The first 1/2 cup in the morning doesn't bother me at all. Other than that I drink between 1-1.5 gallons of water per day. When off treatment I am a regular coffee drinker.

I was told not to drink too much coffee; however I have been a huge coffee drinker for a long time. I still struggle to not drink alot of coffee througout the day; I often forget to drink alot of water; and drink lots of coffee; (i know, I know). So I have been very surprised that at every blood work; they tell me "Good Job! Keep it up!" when they tell me that according to my blood work I am obviously drinking plenty of water. lol I don't get it. Starting to wonder if I am a camel or something lololol

You're lucky that your taste buds still let you drink coffee! I miss it, and miss my caffeine as Diet Coke also tastes like crap. I was never a big water drinker unless I was playing golf in Summer, and I really struggle to get 2l down. I'm developing a liking for peanut butter and jam- may end up looking like Elvis!

The metallic taste is a nuisance but after eating sweets, found my blood glucose was up, so have had to cut that back. It's all fun.

The Roche/Genentech rep that did my briefing said one for one, and quickly. I drink two, just in case. Alan

I've heard that if you drink a cup of coffee that it's diuretic properties, will actually deplete water. If so to drink coffee, how many extra cups of water might be needed?

Coffee will dehydrate so water is better. I lost my taste for coffee while on incevik. However now that I'm feeling better a cup in the AM really hits the spot.
