Thanks, everybody. My birthday was very special. I went to my son's steakhouse, and ate a 20oz porterhouse, a baked potato about the size of a rugby ball, ten spears of asparagus, and a Ceasar salad. Shame on me. But a man is only 60 once. And Shep, if I haven't said so in a different thread, I am so happy and proud for you. You will always be my buddy, along with Judy, kiwi, Joanneh and the other members of the Class of 2011-2012.

Today is my anniversary of started--it really has been quite a year. I am so lucky to have found this forum--would have never made it without all you. I find out in Feb if it was successful. I truly feel that it has worked and soon I can SVR to my signature.

Right now I am waiting for the birth of my new grandson--literally any day! It is so exciting and I am so happy. But the flip side is--my dear 95 year old father has been slowing fading and had a crisis while I am away. Fortunately my brother was on deck to handle the situation and Dad is better. I am so thankful for my life and those I love. I am thankful for the opportunity to regain my health and thankful for my dear forum friends. Wishing everyone a joyous year--and good health!!

Alan,

I was reminiscing about how I started the treatment a year ago the other day too.  I am sure we are all much stronger people now, mentally, physically, and especially spiritally for going though all of this.  It was not fun but it has changed my character for the better. :)

geno 1a, mother & brother also hep c +...mom got a blood transfusion and passed it along.  Started tx with incivik 11/23/11 and brother started 2/8/2012.  Both of us und. at 4,8,12 and me at 24.  I am going 36 wks and brother is going 48 weeks.

way to go and best for you, thank you also for your encouragement.  Yes as time flies so do perspectives, I do not look to my birthday but do remember when I quite drugs and booze, cigarettes, beat cancer both times, and another date hopefully in Aug or Oct of 2013 when I can add Hep C to the list

Thanks, guys. It has been said before, but the fact is there would have been no anniversary if it weren't for all of you. The side effects nearly got me. But the encouragement and team spirit on this forum kept my mind off how I felt, and talking with others who sometimes felt even worse reminded me I was never alone.

It was a strange one for me, as my sis had terminal cancer and she died the week after I finished I'd postponed my tx for 6 months, so I had could be there for her and spend some quality time together aww

Strive for good outlook no matter what.
U helped me a lot!!!! Answering all my
Scared questions. Remember I missed a dose.ha
And u helped me get it back on schedule....
Not by prescription recommendations but what
Experience had taught us! Thanks again

It is an unusual aniversary, Alan. Glad that its an anniversary and not something on your to-do list. I can't say I remember my dates, but I have the records. At 23 weeks, it is becoming more of a fuzzy memory. I haven't smoked a cig since several months before tx and still find myself reaching for one, but never for my pill box.

Every once in a while I still look around my truck looking for my pill case, thinking I need to take my meds. Then I realize I'm finished. Weird feeling. Then I relax.

Yeah, JoAnne, it seemed for a while there that we were all going go off the deep end. If we didn't have each other it would have been a disaster. I call us the Class of 2011-2012. We have had some bad news along the way. But the heroics will live a long time in memory. Glad you are still cruising along, and even though you got the long protocol you seem cheerful. Keep it up

When my alarm clock went off at 5:30 this morning, it marked a very unusual anniversary. One year ago I staggered out of bed, went to the kitchen, ate a bagel with cream cheese and drank a glass of whole milk, then at 6:00 I took two Incivek 375mg. caplets and one Ribapack 600mg, muttered "and so it begins", and went back to bed for an hour. It is 1:00PM now, so in an hour it will be one year since the second Incivek and Ribapack doses (I took my second ribavirin with my second Incivek.... doctor's orders). Tonight at 6:00 PM will mark one year since the first Pegasys shot. Then at 10PM the third Incivek dose. Looking back at this year it is already starting to get fuzzy. But November 20 will always have special significance, just like August 4 (end of treatment). Truly a strange year.
