Hi Sandy, it`s best to only use a very mild shampoo while on tx, especially if your scalp is sore and irritated, and avoid things like conditioner, sprays, gels, etc.  And use a soft brush to avoid tugging at your hair.  Keep it as simple as possible!

ps - Malcolm is away for a few days, which is why I`ve replied. smile

mallani,

thanks for the immodium tip,i won't make that mistake again. why don't you suggest olive oil and conditioner?

your pictures of your travels are splendid. how fortunate you are to have successfully completed treatment, have energy,a loving wife and travel as a passion. i will be planning a banner of an adventure when done w/this.

Hi Sandra,

The scalp skin is very sensitive while on Rx. I only showered every second day, and used a small amount of baby shampoo. Don't use any anti-dandruff stuff, olive oil and I would avoid conditioner. For the constipation drink plenty of water, and eat a lot of fruit. Stop the imodium- it causes constipation! Cheers.

the good news is it's day 10 and 2 darts down. also i didn't get the tingles at all during the nite for 2nd shotsmile  also my rash has abated ,it's on 2/3rds of my body.

     here's what i need help with;burning scalp,nausea, &extreme constipation.

for the burning scalp i use olive oil in my hair. it's way too greasy and when i wash/condition my hair it starts to burn again. also my hair was damaged 1st time on soc. thus it's extremely fine. any tips?

i just resolved the hemorroidal issue with desitin and cornstarch. it's quite delightful...ha-ha. on dart nite the nausea and severe constipation arrivedyawn my  doc happened to call me and of course no prescriptions forthcomingblankstarehe even knew i would be prone to this! he told me to try colace 100mg. well 3 of them w/in 24 hours  has worked too well.... since yesterday i'm controlling my nausea and extreme constipation with pepto, tums and immodium. i'm eating extremely healthy , consuming enough fiber, doing 15 minutes of exercise, ginger ale and saltines.

any otc suggestions before i call dr and demand a script? quoting the dead,"what a long strange trip it's been..."

thanks,

sandy,ucbgal
