All really great advice. I have tried several. Hiding in the bathroom to take some deep breaths sounds like a plan!

So glad you have an office door. Try some soothing background music at work if you can. What about headphones, even if there is no music on? Set some boundaries at work to get your coworkers to send emails and not just walk in your office at hoc.

And on another note...I've updated my treatment bio but the changes never show up on my posts, only my old bio

Thanks everyone. I can shut the door to my office which gives me space but doesn't stop the pressure of too many immediate assignments, all high profile stuff that everybody wants NOW! Ugh. I actually started kayaking on the weekend which is nice and peaceful...

Oh well, I will just hope that my 12 week test results are okay.

Do you think that this high stress level is part of treatment recovery? Feel so overwhelmed. Will talk to doc about anti-deppresent.

Hello Kathi

Sorry to hear about your current stress level. Relationships, jobs, medical conditions, and many other daily pressures can increase our stress level.

The best advice I can give with your situation is to change your daily routine. You would  benefit with a activity that can clear your mind and totally settle it down.

For some, the best time is in the morning. Physical exertion can work like taking a brisk walk or bike ride, something that can elevate heart rate and breath in fresh air. Try to find a natural setting that can lend a visual element that makes you mentally relax.

Also during work break away for at least 20 minutes during the day to give your mind a break. Like your avatar says Breath deep and long.

Hoping the best for you

Matt

Returning back to a full time job will
Take you time to adjust.
Take time out breaks in a quiet place if only for 2 minutes.
It was difficult for me to adjust to loud noises
After treatment for about 3 months!
Go to bathroom or anywhere where it is quiet
And get yourself to relax.
Read tech uniques thAt help. I am religious
And praying helps as well as slowing my breathing.
Regain your confidence you will be sharper
Than ever:)

Hi Kathi,

I wouldn't worry too much. We sold our apartment during my last week of Rx and bought a house. The stress of dealing with lawyers, moving people, electricity, gas and telephone connection had me completely stressed out, but it hasn't affected my 6 month results. Just try to relax and look forward to good news. Cheers.

Hi everyone,
So I am 6 weeks post. Went back to work full time 3 weeks ago. Overwhelming stress and pressure. I've been doing this job for almost 30 years and while some stress, it was never anything I couldn't handle. Stress magnified right now due to husband and I am actually staying at hotel this weekend.. Bottom line is I am worried that this currently unbearable stress level will cause me to relapse, which then creates more stress. So what do you think??? No, I can't take any time off work and because of my position I am expected to handle the most difficult cases.
