Hi Kathy, yes incivek is indeed a very powerful, but also toxic, drug which is why people only take it for 12 weeks.  Good to know your husband has had a successful outcome finally after going through two bouts of very difficult treatment, you must both be very pleased about that.

We were told in April 2008 that my husband had Hep C at that point he decided not to get treatment until 2009 he has portal hypertension he had very high iron he had to have a pint of blood taken out for 2 months every two weeks to get it out of him no he didn't have the gene
In 2009 mu husband took at the time standard treatment for his HEP C and it was 48 weeks of hell then the test came back at recheck time the HEP C was back so we had to go another round with the same out come then in 2012 he took the standard treatment with a new drug incevic spelled wrong very powerful drug only can be given for a short time it almost killed him he started it in January 2012 then in July 2012 he was put into ICU for his sugar level was 865 taken off the treatment and it has been 16 months and he just had his test and he is still Hep c free the new drug will help but please watch your labs I wanted to share thank you
