LOL Sarah... That was me too. Warm and toasty one second, all covers flipped off and sweating the next. Would creep the window open in winter and drive my hubby nuts. And only now that you have mentioned it have I realized I haven't had one hot flash since I started treatment. What an unexpected silver lining!

Warmth is in the feet. I'd try heated slippers or hot water bottle. Once the feet are warm, the rest is easier to get warm. And easy to move away if you get too warm.

Same problem here, but I also have night sweats from menopause...so I sleep with my window wide open in zero degree weather, tons of blankets (until I get hot) and took lots of sleep meds.  Oh and lot of ice water beside the bed for when I got hot.  So my routine during the night....covered up, warm and toasty.....suddenly hot....off come the blankets and drinking lots of cold water.....freezing...on come the blankets....warm and toasty.....and on and on....lol......some mornings I felt like I worked the whole night!!!!

Hang in there.  Good Luck and Hope things improve!!!!!

Hi ladonna,

Welcome to the forum.  My husband also had hep c and went through 2 treatments with the last one being successful.  As Tig56 said, there are so many new treatments now with good odds on beating the virus.  There are a number of people on the forum who had hep c for decades, were cirrhotic and yet still achieved SVR (ie. clearance).

I understand how draining it can be to be the caregiver.  Please look after yourself too and at least ensure you know where you're at with the virus.  As hubby's situation seems pressing, I encourage you to get the doctors to look at new treatment for him.  Hopefully you can then address your own hep c situation.

Please feel free to ask any question you wish, the people in this forum are very helpful and kind.  All the best.  Caroline

Hi Ladonna,

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you've found us and encourage you to start by looking through the forum and if you have specific questions, you can use our search function at the top or ask a question using any of the appropriate sections on the home page. If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask your question anywhere and we'll help you find it. I understand how computers can confuse and will be glad to provide all the help I can. You will meet several friendly and knowledgeable people here, more than willing to provide help and suggestions.

I'm sorry your husband is feeling poorly, the symptoms he's having are the body's way of trying to compensate for the problems he's experiencing. The liver controls or impacts many, many bodily functions and getting the HCV cured and the process of regeneration underway will bring renewed strength and vitality to him. Best to discuss these problems with the doctor and hopefully get a treatment plan decided. It's a great time to get started on treatment and knowing he has tried Interferon twice indicates something different may be the next course of recommended treatment. The new DAA's, Sovaldi and Olysio offer shortened Tx times, highly effective results, with and without Interferon and Ribavirin. The success rates for cirrhotic's has been greatly improved too! Once you can get your husband comfortable and on treatment, it will be a great time to get treatment too. The chance for a cure (SVR) has never been better! Good luck and stay in touch, we're so glad you're here. smile

Best, Tig

PS: Has your husband had his thyroid function checked recently? That may be responsible for his chills and over heating. A simple blood test can determine that, ask your doctor.
