I just wish I had known about this study, since I live in Washington DC.

no

Instead, I'm doing Sovaldi+Riba for 24 weeks. I shouldn't be complaining, and I'm not really. Already UND after the third week.

But it would've been nice to take meds for only 6 weeks and be done with it.

What a thrill to read about the new drug studies and combinations that are producing staggering cure rates.

First in the U.S. then worldwide we will no longer have to encourage those with heavy sides to persevere.  A Motrin for an annoying headache from time to time and you are cured in 6 to 12weeks!

Beautiful and a blessing for all of us.

Rockon!

Yes, Maddie, it certainly is like a miracle compared to the limited treatment options people have had up until recent times.  Whoever would have believed that medical science in the field of Hep C would have made such huge strides forward!

All the best of luck to you with your results, not much longer for you now, and it certainly looks very promising.  You`ve responded well all along and we look forward to hearing more good results!

Thanks for the news updates and all your supportive posts on the forum.

Thanks, Jill.  It is just so wonderful, isn't it?  Finally, a treatment that is safe, minimal sides and best of all, highly effective.  What a miracle we are all witnessing.  I hope that the combo I am just about to finish, Sovaldi/Olysio, will be my miracle...as well as all those on it.  Thank you for being here for all of us.

Tig, Gracie, I think that as more drugs are approved, the price will come down.  It was good to see that this particular study conducted in Washington DC included mostly low income patients.  And now they are Hep c free!

Thanks for posting this, Maddie, these are some impressive results!  The future is looking very bright for Hep C treatment options and this combo is leading the way!  And I agree absolutely with what Tig and Gracie said, let`s just hope the price will be set within reasonable limits so that as many people as possible can benefit from this amazing advance.

I`ll do a separate post for an overview of the April HCV Advocate Newsletter.

If they would just realize they won't need to charge that much. With hep c screening becoming standard, and with shorter easy to handle treatments, most people will treat. I'm sure the old SOCs kept lots from trying. They will make tons and tons of money in numbers alone. This is a cure! So very hard to believe this is so close! Come on drug companies....

Sovaldi and Ledispavir are going to be the go to combo! I'm glad that Gilead is on the carpet now for price gouging on the singular drug Sovaldi. God only knows what they would (will) try to charge for this single pill combo when approved by the FDA this year or early 2015. Let's hope wiser, more compassionate minds prevail when they structure the initial price to consumers...
