Hi, just saw you post. I did triple Tx in 2011 and had to stop at 13 weeks. Now Doc wants me to get on harvoni asap. Should arrive tomorrow. My blood work showed some "monchronal protein" which really got the approval to treat fast. Keep me posted OK? I haven't been on the forum much since my 2011 treatment

They are stalling as much as they can until prices drop. It is frustrating for ME to hear about treatment being denied over wrong fax numbers and labs not done within a certain timeframe. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be for you and all the others to listen to their excuses, although I know throwing a fit probably wouldn't help.

If it continues at this rate it would take ~70 years to treat the 3.5 million HCV patients in the US alone!

Hey that is a small amount, makes me think that the insurance companies are trying to push back the scrips until the Dec. 15 deadline for new insurance enrollees either leave them or stay. It's like reshuffling a deck of cards, some times we get a better hand. Who knows but it's fun going down the conspiracy theory road.

It isn't a conspiracy theory; it is simply dishonest business practices that they are hoping never to be held accountable for.  Just look at all the "bad faith" lawsuits insurance companies have settled and lost.  They actually do these sneaky things.  Not for every claim but it certainly happens.

Really? New Year Resolutions? That's a hoot! I guess we can all wish ourselves a healthy future and a Harvoni Rx.  It's about as fast as many are getting their scripts approved! How did you get those distribution numbers so quick? I'm surprised they would want them released after the sorry a** rollout. That's a sad number when considering the number of people wanting and waiting for an answer. But it's a valuable tool in the fight to get these medications distributed. Good find!

Hi Tig:

The numbers are being discussed all over the biotech investor blogs and web sites.  The investors gab about Gilead like a bunch of old ladies in a sewing circle.  And, what a whiny bunch of scaredy-cats.  Whenever Gilead takes a minor drop you can count on a bunch of the investors to wet their pants and talk about selling.

Here are Havoni script numbers since approval:

Interestingly, Sovaldi is still selling well, and has out performed Harvoni up until this week.

Harvoni scripts were ~ 4,400 for last week in the USA.  Averaged out that means only ~ 88 people per state were approved (and this was the highest week yet).  That doesn't seem like many from a patient's point of view.

BTW, I am beginning to HATE Pharma investors.  They talk about these drugs as if they were a pair of shoes or a new television. One idiot investor opined that scripts will increase in January because people will make New Years Resolutions to get healthier (as if tx was like going to the gym or something). WTF?
