Thanks for such a positive and encouraging post, John, and I agree with what others have said that you`re a great support and a very valuable member of our forum.  I`m so pleased you completed your S/O tx and became Hep C free last year and I`m glad you`re still around, we appreciate your presence here!

It`s always gratifying to hear that people have had a good experience here and even though we have our challenges we do our best to maintain a friendly, supportive and non-judgemental safe haven for everyone who needs us.

It`s a real joy to see people coming through tx and every good result and SVR is something to celebrate, and I`m looking forward to a lot more successful outcomes this year.

Wishing you everything good in your life, John!

I agree with Duane, you are so supportive and non-judgemental, John.   I was glad to have you as a treatment "buddy" during S/O treatment last year.  Very glad that we both achieved SVR.  I am cheering on all those treating this year with whatever protocol their doctor prescribes.  Wish you all the best of luck.

Hey John

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and appreciation, like many members the forum is a place of sanctuary to express what they cannot to others.

John your contributions are well noted and because you did not sharply cutoff contributing content after you achieved SVR shows that you truly care about others that need support through this arrangement.

Thanks again for all your love and support.

I agree this forum has been a life saver. You guys never let me quit because of side effects. You gave me a safe place to rant. You gave me more info on this disease and my meds than my doctor or pharmacist. I owe my SVR status to you. Thank you.

How Fantastic!

great Post!

this site and friends on board here have been an incredible help to me in so many ways. From the deep dark depression that can creep in,the trys and failures, to new hopes, new treatment, and what appears to be relief for us!

God Speed to all the souls who keep pushing forward to to life, health and helping others.....

Thanks so much to all of you... Including the quiet people and especially the forum administrators who have contributed so much to everyone dealing with (what we deal with).

I am currently 2 months on board the Harvoni train with all systems go To date. I (we) haven't had so much optimism since ...... Forever!

Everyone keep fighting the fight and we can all hopefully get through this together.

God Bless

Patrick

I am new to the forum so I will introduce myself. I am a 53 year old male diagnosed with Hepatitis C  (1b) in 2001, almost certainly the result of numerous blood transfusions in 1982. I was a null responder to Interferon/Ribavirin in 2001 and have been waiting for better treatment options.

I have compensated cirrhosis, although maintain an active life with no overt health issues at this point.

I just received my initial month supply of Sovaldi/Olysio (no ribavirin) from my gastroenterologist who participated in the COSMOS trial. Anthem has picked up the cost and only have a $55.00/month co pay. My gastro is of the belief that there is a small window for insurance approval with this off label combination and has already seen some push back from the major carriers. I was approved for rx mid December, but did not have an appointment until today to pick up the meds.  Given the fluctuating landscape with these new treatments, I would encourage everyone who is considering an off label combination to strike now before insurance companies become more intransigent.

That was my first post one year ago today. I was scheduled to start tx and realized that I had more questions than my doctor could possibly answer. I stumbled across this forum which provided a wealth of information. More importantly, it was clear that forum members, even in the midst of dealing with their own health issues and busy lives, took the time and effort to help others like myself. I am grateful and believe that I have acquired many friends over the last year from my involvement with fellow forum members.

For me personally, 2014 was the year of finally slaying the dragon for good. With your support along with my family and friends, a good doctor and 84 days of S/O, I was able to get my life back. May 2015 be the year that everyone succeeds in beating this disease! I hope in some small way I can continue to contribute to the cause. Many thanks and best wishes to everyone.

john, a.k.a Gator Man
