Maybe Gilead would pay for an ad with Hep C survivors as a cast having good clean fun in Las Vegas. Is that oxymoronic though?

Gracie,

That Rocky Mountain train trip across Canada is on my bucket list! I once took Amtrak from Pittsburgh, PA  to Spokane, WA. I reserved one of the private two room sleeper apartments with a big picture window and all I can say is WOW! The scenery is like nothing people will ever see unless they are able to take that route. Going through the Montana Rockies was incredible! If I could manage it, I'd get everyone here onboard that train. What a way to celebrate all of the successes here!

Ha ha... We could go on a train ride together... They do these wonderful train rides through the Rocky Mountains here in Canada. Breathtaking scenery.

I'd always be up for Vegas though. Even a cruise would be awesome!

This could be pretty fun!

Well now that's more like it!

And I agree maybe Gilead should help out.  After all what awesome advertising for them to have a convention hall filled with people cured on their drug.

I will contact them.

My mom told me "it never hurts to ask anything; the worst that can happen is they say no & you are no worse off than before"

She also said "if the wind gets too strong - put some rocks in your pockets" lol

I learned far to late in life just how wise my mom was.

Ok Maybe its a stretch  but  What about VEGAS  And You can take a train

There are plenty of hotels and many places to rent a banquet room and easy flights anywhere in the US  Average flights like NY to LAS Vegas per person $400.00 only 6hr  drive from LA   then 10-12 hrs you be as far back as Denver Colorado ( Not a winter trip ) Who don't like Veags? Plenty of other things to do Shows, Rides Swimming pools, Restaurants you can helicopter to the Grand Canyon, Skydive  Of course you don't have to do any of that but you can.

Warning it is an adult playground so if have vices that you haven't tackled yet maybe not such a good idea LOL

If you don't mind an S/O guy from an earlier train, I'm in and a cruise or something else in warm weather would be fun. I would love to meet everyone.

Tig, that's a great idea!

Then I could meet you all on Magen's Bay - that's where all the tourists go and I don't know of a caribbean cruise line that doesn't stop here. I would love to meet you all!

This is a great idea. Depending upon where and when, I'd make it.  Would be a blast to meet and get a hug from folks on the forum.  Warmer weather is better :)

Wow!! I missed your post too BJ, sorry about that:(. There's definitely a party atmosphere brewing for this train's arrival!! How about we take the train to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and we take a Carribean cruise? Now that would be a party!!! WOOT!

Hi BJ, oh I`m so sorry no-one has replied to you!

I think it`s a great idea for people riding the Harvoni train, or on any other treatment journey, to try and get together afterwards to celebrate and party!  It would take a bit of organising with people living so far apart but I`m sure it could be possible for some at least.

Thanks for coming up with such a lovely suggestion!

Not ONE reply - that has to be a first lol!

Guess maybe I should have went to bed a little earlier.

Oh well I thought it was a good idea. But then as the saying goes "Good ideas are common whats uncommon are people wholl work hard enough to bring them about."

or maybe this one fits better: It all starts with a tiny, stupid idea, then one thing leads to another, and suddenly you have a really huge, stupid idea!" giggle.gif

Wouldn't it be neat if, say a year from now; maybe less we had a get together somewhere nice?  It could happen if we got enough interest and got some folks on board to help organize it.  Maybe  & this might be a stretch but there's a possibility, however slim, we could get Gilead to help too. After all most of us are being cured by their drug/s.  I have friends, that for years go to a convention for twins.  How hard could it be to organize something?  I have some experience & I bet there's a slew of talent out there between all the other members.  I just think it would be a kind of nice ending to a long journey that many have shared together but only online. I am pretty new but I can tell some of you have known each other for quite awhile. Wouldn't it be great to finally meet in person as healed people?  I don't know,  give it a thought and if anyone thinks it might have some merit let me know.  Of course it would all depend on the amount of interest and how many would show. I don't even know how many members this site has or if there's connections to other sites.

Maybe I better just go to bed ! sleep.gif
