56 years old. Genotype 1B, previous treatment with interferon 1994. Started Harvoni 12/8/14. After 2 weeks, VL dropped from over 4 million to 496. At 4 weeks, undetected, but at 8 weeks, <15 mL (detected), at 12 weeks/EOT UND!

I am not a doctor either but there is no reason once you have completed a treatment regimen and let the meds finish their course that you can't take vitamins, the only thing i would watch is if your liver is compromised be careful of vitamins that can load up due to poor metabolic clearance. Otherwise most vitamins just flush out what isn't absorbed thru the normal process.As always ask your Dr. If you are unsure.

Hi Bridget,

There shouldn't be any limitation on returning to a vitamin supplement following treatment. I took a multi vitamin all the way through treatment. That was the only supplement (vitamin) that was allowed. Now that tx is completed that should be fine IMO. But I have to add, that I'm not a doctor and recommend you contact yours or Gilead's Help Program for confirmation. My Vit D was low too following treatment. A little sunshine and a nice milkshake every few days helped bring it back up! Good luck...

When can I start taking vitamins after EOT?  I saw on my last labs that my vitamin D is low.
