Thanks Kim, and you too!

Keeping yourself well hydrated by drinking enough water certainly helps.

Let us know how it goes!  smile

Hi there Kim, just wanted to say welcome from me too!

Sorry you`re not feeling too good so far, I`m sure having a cold just before you started taking the meds can`t have helped.   Maybe it hadn`t quite cleared up and will get better once your system has adjusted to the drugs in your system..  Difficult to say whether or not it`s a side effect but we have a lot of other people here who are on the same treatment and they are reporting various different side effects, some people being more affected than others.

Hope you feel better soon, and the same to you Hillary, keep in touch and best of luck!  smile

I started on 4/8/15 and I feel like I have the flue with a low grade fever with a sore throats and those darn headaches. Not fun. But this too shall pass.  It is for the short term. And the reward at the end....well,WOW. So hang in there. I also here that the side effects change a lot?!

Hi Kim,

Welcome to the forum! You will find a lot of friendly people and ihelpful nformation here. Be sure you check out our search function at the top. A key word or two will provide you with info here on the forum. I'll add a link to the abbreviations we use too.

I'm glad that you have started Harvoni and want you to know that the first couple of weeks are proving to be the hardest for some. The good news is, it gets easier. Your body is adjusting to some powerful drugs and once it gets used to those changes, it will hopefully get better. The biggest complaint have been headaches and fatigue. You can do a few things to help. First you need to pay particular attention to properly hydrating. Try to drink at least 3-4 liters of good water per day. A good balanced diet and rest is very important. Harvoni can cause some insomnia, so when you take the medication each day, may help avoid that. Always clear any changes with your doctor though. I hope that in a short amount of time, you will notice some improvement in how you're feeling. Starting out after a cold can't help I'm sure. Hang in there!

I'm going to give you a link to our thread specifically established for our Harvoni members. You will get responses by people going through the same treatment and will be able to give you a lot of support and ideas on getting through this in good shape. If you have any questions, just let us know and we'll do our best to help. I'm glad you're here! Good luck...

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum  and glad to share and take advice, I started Harvoni on 4/11/15 after getting over a bad cold, well today I feel like my cold has returned. I don't know if it's related to taking Harvoni or am I just getting a cold again. Has anyone had any cold symptoms? doh
