Jaded, I am close to my 12 week end,and i have had zero side effects beyond the headache, which was mild.very mild. I attribute. That to the advice of the people here, particularly. The hydration. As Tig said i would,i have slept like a baby. Everyone is different, but i can see what i think was a sweet spot as t when i take pill, whic just happened to be 4 pm as thsts when i got mu first med. This last stretch of my 12 weeks it is automatically. Given i take pill everyday anything other than that, i wouldnt even know i was taking a med for hep c which amazes me You will do well and it will go quickly Peace

I am 66. I go to the gym every morning at 5:30 5 days a week and I do yoga class 1 day a week. I work all day and haven't missed a day (I'm in week 5 Harvoni). I feel great. I get cold more often and I seem to want to eat more, but I'm still holding. Don't know what to expect when I quit the tx but it I'm pretty optimistic at this point.

I'm about to start 24 weeks of Harvoni in 2 1/2 weeks. I was under the impression that here were not really any side effects but the more I read the more it seems people are a bit zapped from the treatment. I've worked out regularly for the last 19 years and intend to continue to do so...but I'm beginning to think this may be a bit harder than I originally anticipated.

Congrats Rockyfeller!  It's great to hear from someone who finished Harvoni a year ago.  A bunch of us finished Harvoni during the last few months, but there aren't many reports from people who finished before it was approved 6 months ago. So happy for you! Thanks for letting us know how it's going 12 months eot!!!

Enjoy your new life! biggrin

4 wks after EOT, VL = UND; normal AST/ALT at 4, 8 and 14 weeks after EOT.  15 weeks after EOT = Undetectable!

When I was finishing up my 12 week regimen of Harvoni, I also retired, and started to hit the health club  daily, to try to get ready for my new life.  I have always done a lot of swimming, but when I tried to swim laps, while on treatment, I felt like I was having a heart attack at the end of each lap.  I asked my doctor at the VA about these chest pains, and she immediately scheduled me for a nuclear stress test.  of course it took several weeks to get it scheduled, and by then I had been off the meds about a month.  The stress showed no problems, and when I went back to the pool I found it didn't bother me any more, and now I'm back to 40 laps no problems.

Now, a year later, I'm in the best shape I have been in for years (at 70)

I will be finished with 24 weeks of Harvoni in 20 days. Taking Harvoni only, no other drugs. Obviously concerned about the length of time needed to clear the effects of the drug and recover from any discontinuance issues. I have been working out regularly, averaged 4.5 days a week, during treatment in spite of joint pain, muscle aches, fatigue, etc. I expect to step up the efforts after the last pill to hasten recovery. Is there any information regarding exercise and metabolism helping to shorten the time needed for recovery?
