Hi Liam,

Glad you're at EOT and believe and you'll see SVR in the near future! I'm confident that you'll feel a lot better when the Riba aftereffects decline.

Post some pictures when you resume your biking ventures. Malcolm got us quite spoiled with his tour in New Zealand and holiday in the U.S.

Take care and good luck!

john

Hi Liam,

Congrats on finishing. I'm sure you're imaging the yellowish tint- in any case it won't be jaundice! Best of luck mate.

Hi Tig and William,

thankyou both for your encouragement and wise words, it does make sense that I am detoxing for the RIBA/ Sol and would explain a lot.

Tig, I did have an end of treatment ( 24 week) viral load and I am still undetected.  I had thought that it was normal to stay undetected while on the treatment though, is that correct? I now have to wait 12 weeks to see if I am SVR, but I think I will have a test privately before then to see how its going.

cheers all

liam

hi there.can relate to your post tx issues.i felt worse for a couple of wks after stopping.looking back i can see now that my system was in overdrive shifting the toxins out of my body.am now in 5th month since i finished tx.was still virus undetcted at my 3month blood test.it took awhile to start feeling stronger.i still itch a bit from the riba.but no where near what i was like on tx.have kept a diary for last 18 months.makes interesting reading.this time last yr there was no hope.and i was put on tx on compassionate grounds.so i know what i was like then.compared to how i was and how i am now is a miracle.you will start to feel better its just at the time you feel there is no end to it.i wish you all the very best in your recovery and will be following you on your posts.hope to hear from you soon                                                                                                                                                                                           william  smile

Hi Liam,

Congrats on finishing treatment! I know you're happy that 24 weeks is behind you. smile

I wouldn't worry about anything at this point, it serves no purpose. These drugs, especially the Ribavirin takes months to clear (6 or more!). The Sovaldi clears very quickly, usually 5-10 days. My experience during the Interferon triples went from feeling like crap, to the Roadrunner. It was after I quit and my body was trying to recover, that a number of post treatment effects plagued me. So give yourself adequate time to recover. It takes some time following SVR for things to start improving, regardless of how you felt on treatment.

When you see your doctor, explain how you're feeling. Did you have an end of treatment viral load? Some docs wait til EOT+12, to do the final test for SVR. It would put your mind at ease if you could get one done now. Sort of a morale booster! Keep in touch and let us know how things are going. Hang in there...

Hi,

I have just finished 24 weeks of riba/Sol 2 weeks ago, over the last few days my eyes have become red again and there is a yellowish tinge (this happened a lot before treatment). While on treatment my eyes were clear. I also have a lot of cramping in my legs and hands and I have pain around my liver area. Has anyone else had these symptoms? I am also concerned the dreaded virus has come back, or am I just totally paranoid. Cant trust my judgements after 24 weeks of treatment.
