As others have mentioned, please wait. I actually waited to start Harvoni as I was going thru oral surgery last year! Let me share this with you.....I had microdermabrasion done while on treatment and realized afterwards I should have waited. Something simple as that. My skin reacted much differently on treatment than ever in years past.

Happy Holidays Kelly!

Kelly,

A PM is the abbreviation for Private Message. You can see your private messages by going to your Profile page and you will see them listed there. You can send private messages to anyone on the forum via your page or by going to theirs. It's all self explanatory on your profile page. You can access your profile by clicking on your name. Hope this helps.

Your description "Ultrasonic Liposuction Cavitation" did sound invasive to me as well. The medical term "LIPOSUCTION", involves the insertion of a catheter into the layer of fat cells to remove them. Perhaps you could explain what the doctors told you they would be doing. What you will be undergoing isn't a true "liposuction" procedure. The term I saw used was "lipo-cavitation", big difference from an actual liposuction procedure, which is invasive. The information I just read on the subject indicates that ultrasound waves are used to disrupt the fat cells, which then liquify and are metabolized by the body and eliminated. The report stated that a large majority of the fat is removed through a process that heavily involves the liver. Your liver is already in a weakened state, especially now that you're going through treatment. That explanation tells me that you should wait until after treatment and you have given your liver and yourself, some time to rest and recover. My opinion of course, but it doesn't sound like this is the right time to ask your liver to do even more hard work. Especially while it's in a compromised state from treatment.

Hi Kelly,

I just sent you a PM addressing this. There are several things to consider before going through a procedure like that, especially while you're on treatment. Is it possible to wait until after you've completed the Harvoni treatment? I would recommend that were it my decision.

My hepatologist said no invasive procedure, not even a tooth pulled. Don't you think liposuction can wait?
