Tiger,

Argh!  That Riba Monster just plain sucks.  I felt like I had to recover from the treatment as much as the HCV. I couldn't even believe I would feel better but I sure do!  The sides will wear off.  Like treatment, you just have to wait it out.  Hopefully we are among the last to take that stuff, but I do still feel blessed by the fact that it worked.

Big congratulations on completing treatment.  Let us know how things go.

Cheddy

Greetings,

First, congrats and welcome to the club! And yes, it is quite exclusive. We think there are many but the fact is at this point, there are as yet few.

Few that have been blessed with treatment.

Few that have completed treatment.

Few that have blazed the trail that lies before so many.

At some point in time, Freedom from Hep C will be a thing taken for granted. Hard to believe among those of us who have fought the initial battle, but for me there remains a picture of those who have fought for those who were to come. Indeed, they were battle scarred but at the same time very proud understanding what they had done for the generations as yet unborn.

If The Revolutionary War had been one against a Dragon such as we have battled, would the picture below be that much different?

I know I am getting a bit sentimental here, but I am cooking Chili, and it happens every time! wink

Congrats again Brother! You are among the Pioneers of this great battle. A Founding Father of sorts. ;)

JimmyK

Thanks you for this posting. I completed Ribavirin May, 2015. I'm a lot better but I'm still on the anti-depressants. I can't imagine how I would do without them. I do hope I can stop so many pills

thanks,

Phyllis

Hey Dave,

Congratulations! Finishing treatment is a wonderful thing. It's such a relief to hear that last pill rattling around in the bottle, especially the last dose of Ribavirin! It's a necessary evil in some protocols, but it's still an effective addition to some DAA's. The unfortunate part of it is the Ribavirin side effects. They can and do take months to resolve, so don't expect a rapid resolution to all of them. I had issues for a full year following Tx. They will diminish in some respects, but I remained a cranky, itchy, sun sensitive old grouch for a full year afterwards. You should notice many improvements, but some take time.

I hope the new job is more to your liking. Some people just don't get it. If they choose to keep their head in the sand, so be it. Sharing your health status with some people works out well, others, not so much. Be selective and try to inform and educate. That's my approach and it has worked satisfactorily for me. Do what's right for you.

Good luck post treatment and stay in touch!

Good to hear your family is in the clear. Things do have a way of working out. smile  I bet you will like your new job even better! It's terrible that adults have to act like children sometimes. Keep on healing!

Hey tiger,

So glad to hear from you and that you are feeling lucky! I agree. Sorry about the riba tho, I can't wait for that to pass for you. And there are always silver linings, like in getting that new job you spoke of,  without the people who would never understand what you have just accomplished and gone through! You are sounding like you are doing REALLY well. Good for you, I know it must have been a long haul. Keep on taking good care of yourself, it will take some time to loose the effects of that riba, but I hope it dissipates quickly. I'm glad you got some firm follow-up pre-arranged. It is quite necessary. Hoping you start feeling better and better, day by day. Glad you're juicing. Still, don't forget your friend H20. How's the foot pain? Yay - you're finished! smile C.
